CHURCH IN S.S.GIOVANNI- Milano

Lighting design w/Cino Zucchi

The church competition generated a dry project, which deals with the difficult issue of contemporary worship. Built in the industrial outskirts of Milan, the church has a spacious and comfortable space, surrounded on the sides by two suspended light sails.
In the ceiling, in most of the high skylights, the lighting fixtures are installed. Artificial lighting is diffuse and uniform as it is during the day when natural light is spread all over the church. No lighting fixtures are visible, some hidden in the high ceiling, some others in the beams under the sails.
