City Airport 2018-05-23T13:36:52+00:00

Project Description

The city airport, situated in the north part of Rome, aims to consolidate general aviation traffic flow and helicopters connections. The building shows two distinct sides and two different façades: a transparent curved façade facing the airside is opposite to a solid linear one. At night lighting reveals the architecture, and the double height lobby overlooking the airplanes. Recessed fittings highlight the lobby and the suspended structure hangs over the bar. The entire building is covered with diffuse lighting mostly coming from the ceiling, while on the opposite side of the building, the lighting focused on the entrance enhances the darkness of the façade.
